The five regions, Medicoindustrien, and GS1 Denmark have signed a joint declaration of intent, setting the course for how medical device data will be shared in Denmark moving forward.
The ambition is to create a more cohesive and efficient collaboration between regions and suppliers – with better data as the foundation.
The declaration of intent is based on a shared understanding that uniform and accessible data is a prerequisite for strengthening procurement, logistics, and daily operations in the healthcare sector.
The parties have agreed to work toward a common data foundation for medical devices, so that data can be more easily reused and shared across stakeholders.
Today, both regions and suppliers experience significant complexity when working with product data. With a shared direction, the goal is to reduce duplication of work, improve data quality, and make collaboration more seamless.
Better data also means better conditions for reducing errors and waste – and for freeing up time for core tasks closer to the patient.
The declaration of intent is an important step in a long-term collaboration, where the focus is now shifting from development to implementation and application.
The parties emphasize that the work must take different needs and prerequisites into account, and that development will proceed at a shared pace.
As part of the initiative, a user group with representatives from both the regions and the industry is being established. The group will support knowledge sharing, data quality, and the continued development of the field.
