Colloquially, many know GTIN as a barcode, but technically, GTIN is the number found beneath the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.
GS1 Denmark works closely with relevant industry stakeholders through Sector Boards to ensure that our services and standards remain relevant to those who use them.
A Sector Board is a forum where industry representatives and GS1 jointly identify needs, share knowledge, and develop recommendations for solutions that strengthen data quality, efficiency, and compliance across the entire value chain. The Board serves as an advisory partner to GS1’s Board of Directors, particularly regarding industry priorities and legislation.
As a member of a Sector Board, you help ensure that the industry’s perspectives are heard - and contribute to shaping the frameworks and standards on which the future is built. Participation is voluntary and based on mutual respect, neutrality, and a shared ambition to find solutions that create value for the entire industry.
