GS1 Denmark has appointed a new CEO. Louise Zingenberg, who joins from her position as COO of the organization, will take office on August 12, 2026. With this appointment, GS1 Denmark gains a CEO with in-depth knowledge of the organization, its members, and the strategic ambitions for the coming years.

Louise Zingenberg will take office as the new CEO of GS1 Denmark on August 12, 2026, moving to the CEO position from her current role as COO.

The appointment comes at a time when GS1 Denmark is in the process of realizing its Vision 2030 and setting the course for the development of the coming years. In this role, GS1 Denmark will continue to strengthen its position as a link between companies, industries, and the global GS1 network, making it easier for Danish companies to navigate a reality with increasing demands for data, documentation, and transparency.

As COO, Louise Zingenberg has already been closely involved in GS1 Denmark's strategic and organizational development. She will now build on that experience as CEO.

Chairman of the Board Niels Jensen looks forward to the collaboration:

We have conducted a thorough process and sought a CEO with strong competencies in strategy, leadership, and digital understanding. Louise matches that profile, and her leadership, in particular, has been decisive in our choice. She is capable of setting a clear direction, making decisions, and simultaneously creating engagement and development around her. Therefore, I am very pleased that Louise has accepted the role of leading GS1 Denmark. The Board fully supports the strategic direction, and we look forward to working closely with Louise to bring it to life,” says Niels Jensen, Chairman of the Board at GS1 Denmark.

A strong foundation for the next phase

As the new CEO, one of Louise Zingenberg's most important tasks will be to continue the work on GS1 Denmark's strategic direction and ensure that the organization's global standards, data, and solutions create even more value for members and partners.

Louise Zingenberg's path to the CEO role began a year and a half ago when she first joined GS1 Denmark for a consultancy assignment. She subsequently became part of the organization as COO, where she has been closely involved in both strategic and organizational development.

It was primarily GS1's potential to make a tangible difference for companies, industries, and society that sparked her interest. Now, she looks forward to continuing the work from the CEO's chair:

GS1 is an important societal actor, and I am proud to be given the opportunity to lead the organization. Our global standards contribute to efficient trade, traceability, and reliable data across companies, sectors, and countries. I look forward to building on our strong foundation together with our talented employees. The goal is clear: we must create even greater value for our members and expand the use of GS1's global standards and services. Because the more people who use the same standards, the more value we create for both businesses and society,” says Louise Zingenberg.
