In February, we launched a number of new fields and validation rules in GS1Trade Sync. These updates ensure that product data complies with new legislation and data recipient requirements – and that products can be validated and published without issues.

Requirements have been introduced to specify which collective scheme or schemes a product is settled through – or if the packaging is exempt.
The data model has been expanded with new fields for cleaning and chemical products, so that information about chemicals, hazard symbols, and safety can be shared correctly for online sales. Initially, warnings are being added – the fields will become mandatory later.
For vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements, as well as diet and meal replacements, it is now mandatory to specify a diet type code. The code activates relevant validation rules and ensures that legally required information is shared correctly.
It is now mandatory to specify the farming method, weight class, and quality class using fixed code lists.
Five new optional fields make it possible to share more detailed information about, for example, bean type, origin, and roast level.
