Help reduce food waste when sending fresh products to GS1 Denmark by taking advantage of the option to send just one consumer unit (instead of all consumer units) together with its corresponding case.
Please note: This option is available when ordering product creation and/or quality checks for chilled and frozen products through GS1Trade Exact, as well as product photography through GS1Trade Image.
The guide below explains how to prepare your shipment before sending it to us. To make the process easier to understand, we use a fresh chicken as an example.
Consumer Unit (e.g. a fresh chicken)
- Choose a representative chicken: If you are ordering product images of your fresh chicken (the consumer unit), please take the time to select a chicken that looks presentable and ensure that all labels are positioned exactly as you would like them to appear in the images
For variable-weight or variable-price products, please also provide the following information:
- Specify the number of chickens: Include information about how many fresh chickens (consumer units) the case contains
- Use the correct barcode: Remember to use the neutral variable-weight/variable-price barcode on the chicken
- Choose an average-weight chicken: The chicken you send should be as close as possible to the average weight of the other chickens in the case. We use the weight of the submitted chicken together with the stated number of consumer units per case to calculate the total weight recorded during product creation in GS1Trade Sync.
Case Packaging (e.g. the box containing the chicken)
- Clearly identify the correct barcode: To avoid confusion, we recommend crossing out any irrelevant barcodes on the case so that only the barcode to be used remain visible. When completing the product creation form
- Enter the correct classification code: Make sure you enter the correct Import Classification Code (field 50128)
- Write the full country of origin: Do not use abbreviations. Instead, enter the full country of origin or country of production in the product creation form
- Avoid shrink-wrapped cases: Unfortunately, this service is not available for cases secured with shrink wrap. An empty shrink-wrapped case cannot be measured accurately, making it impossible to determine its physical dimensions (height, width, and depth).
Please note: It is not possible to produce a planogram image of a shelf-ready case using this solution.
