Colloquially, many know GTIN as a barcode, but technically, GTIN is the number found beneath the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.
The information is relevant for you who either need to provide data via the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) to hospitals in the Netherlands, for example — or want to prepare you to deliver data to the regions in Denmark.
GS1Trade Sync is a central platform that, via GDSN, enables you to share your product data in a structured, efficient and standardized way with both national and international trading partners. Instead of sending separate files and meeting different customer requirements, you can share your product data once, in one format. It is also from here that you can continuously maintain your product data, easily and simply.
By sending your product data via GS1Trade Sync ensures that your data is always consistent, valid and up to date. It increases both the credibility and visibility of your products across channels and systems.
The platform supports current and upcoming legislation from both Denmark and the EU. It is based on agreed standards between manufacturers and data recipients, so you can rest assured that your data meets what customers and authorities expect.

If you are already ready to send product data via GDSN, you have three options:
1. I am not a member of a GDSN datapool
In this case you can either choose to become a member of GS1 Denmark's datapool GS1Trade Sync (then proceed to point 2), or contact one of the other GDSN registered datapools (then proceed to point 3).
When you join GS1Trade Sync, you get access to the system as well as information about and training on how to use the system. It costs 2,060 DKK per year for a subscription in addition to a variable amount depending on the number of GTIN starting at 1,545 DKK per year for 0-50 GTINs for data providers.
2. I am a member of GS1Trade Sync
You can now start creating your product range. If you have already done this, you can now release your product data to the relevant data recipients. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@gs1.dk.
3. I am a member of a GDSN datapool (which is not GS1trade Sync)
You must contact your data pool and notify those to whom you wish to share data. For data for the Netherlands, select “target market” Netherlands. If you need data for Denmark, you select “target market” Denmark, etc. Then you need to create your range and publish this via your data pool.
We hold ongoing courses in GS1Trades Sync, so you can see, among other things, how to create products in the platform, and you can ask questions.
