Colloquially, many know GTIN as a barcode, but technically, GTIN is the number found beneath the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.

GS1 membership and GS1Trade Transact

To use GS1Trade Transact, your company must be a member of GS1 Denmark and have a GS1Trade Transact subscription. You are then charged based on the documents you exchange.

As part of your GS1 membership, you automatically receive one GLN (also known as an EAN number). A GLN is used to identify your company when exchanging data with trading partners and is also used in electronic trading, for example for invoicing.

GS1Trade Transact is a reliable and proven EDI solution that can be implemented in your ERP system. The solution ensures that you send exactly the information your customers require, so your invoice is approved the first time.

With GS1Trade Transact, you can receive orders and send invoices digitally. The solution acts as GS1’s EDI system and supports both the digital receipt and sending of documents to your customers. You can choose whether to integrate the system with your ERP system or access it online.

What does it mean to integrate with an ERP system?

You can choose whether to enter data manually in GS1Trade Transact online or integrate it with your finance/ERP system.

By integrating with your ERP system, data is transferred automatically, so you don’t need to enter it manually in GS1Trade Transact.

Why am I only paying part of the annual fee?

At GS1 Denmark, subscriptions are typically billed annually. When you sign up, you therefore only pay for the remainder of the current year. After that, your subscription will renew at the full annual price.
