Colloquially, many know GTIN as a barcode, but technically, GTIN is the number found beneath the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.

GS1 membership and GS1Trade Packaging

To use GS1Trade Packaging, your company must be a member of GS1 Denmark and have a GS1Trade Packaging subscription.

As part of your GS1 membership, you automatically receive one GLN (also known as an EAN number). A GLN is used to identify your company when exchanging data with trading partners and is also used in electronic trading, for example in invoicing.

How is the price calculated?

A GS1Trade Packaging base subscription allows you to create and share packaging data with your partners. You can create as many products as you need.

You will always start by paying for the lowest usage tier and will automatically be charged as you move up to the next usage tier.

If you want to share packaging data through GS1Trade Packaging, your company must be set up as a data supplier. As a data supplier, you can create, maintain and share your packaging data in one place.

Why am I only paying part of the annual fee?

At GS1 Denmark, subscriptions are typically billed annually. When you sign up, you therefore only pay for the remainder of the current year. After that, your subscription will renew at the full annual price.
